Text Comprehension in the Brain: The role of Development and Bilingualism (T-ComBrain)

Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA-COFUND) Athenea3i-2018-754446. European Union and Univesity of Granada

This project aimed to 1) elucidate how monolingual and bilingual children, adults and the
elderly perform high-level cognitive processes during L1 and L2 text comprehension, and its
relationship with cognitive control; and 2) dissociate brain areas related to monitoring and
revision processes by exploring brain connectivity in monolingual and bilingual adults and the
elderly. For this purpose, we propose a comprehensive approach combining behavioural (RTs
and accuracy), EEG (N400 and source localisation) and (f)MRI (structural and functional
connectivity, and machine learning) measures.
